Stained glass applique sculpture with glass lenses
2017
I made Town Centre for an exhibition at Gatehouse Arts in Harlow as part of Past Futures – an exhibition celebrating Harlow’s 70th birthday.
Each side shows people I would see from my studio window in the centre of the town. Kids chasing pigeons, kids riding bikes etc.
The central oval shape and lense is inspired by a well-known building that is actually just opposite the gallery. When you view through the lenses it changes your view – reflective perhaps, of the altered view outsiders have of the town.
